Candidate Introduction:

I have spent the last year as a caretaker on a property in Bundaberg, doing repairs and maintenance on the property and vehicles and looking after the animals. At the same time I was able to do private work and did a total bathroom tear down and reno, a full house interior tear down and reno as well as 4 basic plastering jobs and a week in Gladstone hanging plasterboard in a new shopping center. Also did a little patchwork for another three clients and built a 3 x 9 m timber deck for another..

Before moving to Bundaberg I did some sub-contract plastering work around the Cairns area, and before that I was maintenance gardener at a local caravan park- Cairns Villa and Leisure Park. As well as garden upkeep, I was responsible for repair work to accommodation units and facilities, which involved framing and repair of cabinetry, re- glazing windows, repairing and re-hanging doors, ply wall cladding, gyprock repairs, tiling, concreting and building outdoor play equipment. I was also in charge of pool maintenance.

Before this time I was self employed as a gyprock plasterer for about ten years. Work involved all aspects of the trade and I am proficient at wall framing, grid and concealed grid ceilings, sheeting, fire-chek, fire doors, cornice work and setting. Jobs ranged from schools with security cladding to display and concept homes, ships interiors, J.C.U., Cairns airport control tower, and Harbour Lights, to name a few.

Prior to this I worked in various positions, mainly in the building and maintenance fields.

Worked at Rhiopaipo in Tumbi-Umbi NSW as a maintenance man and bodyboard maker. As well as general maintenance, I constructed a mezzanine level in the factory with timber staircase, and 5 pneumatically controlled bodyboard work stands

Have worked on boats a lot as an interest- raised and repaired a trawler from Trinity Inlet, built a few timber canoes and small catamarans, and helped to build and launch a 32 ft ocean-going trimaran. Am able to weld mig and arc and had a small go at aluminium welding. Am also skilled at fibre-glassing.

Have recently been landscaping a property in Kewarra Beach where I have built a greenhouse and 4 large dowel-jointed garden beds. Have also set up the greenhouse with shelving, tables and plants, and set up irrigation in both the greenhouse and the gardens.

I have other work and life experiences and can work efficiently on my own or in a team. I can read plans and remember and follow instructions, as well as think and problem solve for myself. Have also operated a lot of heavy machinery and farm machinery and plant, although I hold no licences for such. I am willing to obtain any licences necessary to obtain work. I do hold a car and marine licence.

Candidate Introduction:

Throughout my working life I have alternated between transport, hospitality, sales and management roles. Whilst I enjoyed the hospitality industry, and a wealth of experience in the transport industry my biggest success has been in sales and management.

My most recent employment started as Sales Manager then a promotion to General Manager whilst still controlling the sales environment. Whilst streamlining the processes of the branch and building an efficient team I grew the business from $600k pcm to $2.2m. This was achieved in under twelve months.

With my hands on approach I am keen to maximise productivity and profitability for the company.
I am confident that the wealth of my skills and experience, coupled with my enthusiasm for challenging roles and my own large CRM database and major projects listings would be of great benefit to their enterprise.

I am willing to travel as required to achieve results.
